Cuban Boxers Gamboa And Barthelemy To Make US-Debuts

03.10.07 - Photo by JA Treptow - For the first time arena-CEO Ahmet Öner sends out two of his most promising talents to fight in the USA. On October 30th Olympic gold medallists Yan Barthelemy (bantamweight) and Yuriorkis Gamboa (super featherweight) will give their US-debuts at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida..

Öner: "I am convinced that both men will show great fights as they want to impress the big Cuban community in Florida. And, of course, all boxing fans in the USA as well. There is no better place for them to put themselves forward for bigger fights and purses."

The main event of the show called "Mayhem 2 - A Night Mare On Lucky Street" features the return of Edison "Pantera" Miranda who lost to Arthur Abraham after breaking the IBF middleweight Champion's jaw on September 23rd, 2006 in Wetzlar, Germany.

While Gamboa and Barthelemy give their US-debuts heavyweight sensation Odlanier Solis proceeds his campaign to become World Champion in Germany. Olympic gold medallist and three-times World amateur champion Solis will fight at arena's big show on October 19th in Berlin's Estrel Convention Center aiming for his 5th consecutive win in his 5th pro-fight.

The main event of the show features WBC International Championship between Oliver McCall and Juan Carlos Gomes. Also on the card are former European Champion Sinan Samil Sam and hopeful German heavyweight prospects Steffen Kretschmann and Konstantin Airich.
