Steve Foster Jr Wants Mathews Rematch
Steve Foster Jr has vowed to knock out Jean Marie Codet on Saturday night - and then beat Derry Mathews and regain his old WBU featherweight title. The hard-as-nails Salford-based fighter dropped a points decision to Mathews last October in a shock defeat and lost his crown..

But he showed plenty of heart to climb off the canvas in the fight, and has vowed to bounce back in style over the coming months.
The 27-year-old has already scored a KO win over Wladimir Borov on the comeback trail, and now has his sights firmly fixed on Codet.
He fights him at Bethnal Green's York Hall on Saturday night, and knows that an impressive display could see him back in the title mix.
Ironically, Mathews defends on the bill against Matthew Marsh.
" I've got nothing personal against Codet, but he's standing between me and a rematch with Mathews, and I'm going to do a job on him," said Foster.
" Losing to Mathews gave me the kick up the backside that I needed.
" I was gutted at the defeat, but I've come back stronger for it.
" Now I desperately want a rematch. Derry is the man at featherweight in the UK, and everybody knows it.
" At the moment Derry is talking about fighting Amir Khan, but I think he should give me a chance to get my old belt back like I gave him the chance to win it.
" I'm just praying that he beats Matthew Marsh on Saturday so I can set the record straight.
" I'll go to Liverpool to fight him because I just want my old title back. In fact, if Frank Warren offered me a fight on the moon against Derry I'd take it.
" The fight would sell out anywhere in the north west. It really would be massive, and I'm determined that it will go ahead."
Foster, son of former world title contender Steve "The Viking" Foster, has built up a 22-1 (15) record since turning professional, and also holds a win over now British champion John Simpson.
