Mollo Destroys Binkowski
13.10.07 - By Jeff Bastasini: Rising heavyweight challenger Mike Mollo (19-1, 12 KOs) blitzed Art Binkowski (16-2-3, 11 KOs) last night, stopping him in the 2nd round at the Sears Centre, in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Mollo, 27, ranked #8 in the World Boxing Association, knocked Binkowski down three times in the 2nd round before the fight was stopped by referee Gerald Scott at 1:25 of the 2nd round. It was the fourth consecutive win for Mollo since being stopped in the fourth round last year by the hard punching DaVarryl Williamson. Looking like a prime version of Joe Mesi, Mollo attacked Binkwoski from the opening round, tagging him with powerful hooks to the head and body.
