Finer loses to Halmich via highly controversial decision

30.11.07 - Regina Halmich finished her career by winning yet another highly controversial decision. Halmich outpointed Hagar Shmoulefeld Finer by a ten round majority decision before a sold out crowd at the DM Arena in Karlsruhe, Germany. The judges scores were 95-95, 97-94, 96-94 in favor of Halmich. East Side Boxing scored the fight 97-93 for Hagar Shmoulefeld Finer. Finer drops to 14-5-3, 3 KOs, Halmich finishes her career with a record of 54-1-1, 16 KOs..

Big ratings for Halmich finale - nearly 9 Millionen TV-viewers saw her last fight
10.2 million tune into the "Box-Queen" last fight


On average, nearly 9 million TV viewers tuned into Friday night's ZDF telecast of the farewell fight of Regina Halmich in the Karlsruhe dm-arena.

The "Boxing Queen" also broke the 10-million plateau for TV viewership when the telecast peaked at a women's boxing record of 10.2 million viewers. The fight, which ran between 10:50PM and 11:45PM, also garnered a spectacular 38.3 percent share.

In addition, 4.17 million viewers (28.7 share) remained tuned in for the delayed telecast of the women's title fight between GBU champion Alesia Graf and Esmeralda Moreno which started just before midnight.
