Edison Miranda to fight Contender’s David Banks

edison miranda14.12.07 - By Nathan King: According to earlier boxing reports, Edison Miranda and David Banks, of the hit show “The Contender,” are set to square off January 11th. Bank’s last win was over Donny McCrary on “The Contender” season finale.

McCrary was originally scheduled to fight Miranda (29-2, 25 KO), but pulled out due to unknown reasons. Banks (15-3-1, 2 KO) was originally scheduled to fight Jean Pascal on the same date. Omar Pittman (15-3-1, 8 KO) will be the new opponent face Pascal (20-0, 14 KO) and Banks is will fight Miranda in the co-feature.

The event will take place January 11th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The event plans to set up a later showdown between Miranda and Pascal assuming they both win.
