Amir Khan: "Where Is Thaxton?"
Amir Khan is planning a missing persons appeal - as nothing has been heard from British lightweight champion Jon Thaxton since December 8. That was the day on which Khan stopped former Lonsdale belt holder Graham Earl in just 72 seconds at the Bolton Arena. And ever since there's been silence from Thaxton's Norfolk stronghold..

" In the past Jon has always been saying that he'll be the first to beat me, but I've heard nothing since I destroyed Earl, who's a much better fighter than Thaxton," said Commonwealth champion Khan.
" Before the fight I said I'd retire Earl, and I'll do the same to Thaxton. Jon's a good fighter but he's not in my league. I'll be too quick and too strong for him, and I can't see the fight going the distance.
" In fact I think I'd get more more of a challenge from Delia Smith - at least she can break an egg!
" To borrow one of her phrases, 'Come on Jon, let's be having you!'
" Sadly I think there's more chance of Thaxton turning up on the side of a pint of milk than getting in the ring with me."
Khan, 21, is due to box again on February 2 at the ExCel Arena, London, where he will try and build on his impressive 15-0 (12) record.
Following the win over Earl, Khan has moved into the WBC top 10, and is also rated highly by the WBO and WBA.
