Paul Spadafora Rumbles With Undefeated Francisco Campos on July 17

13.07.04 - WDVE-FM welcomes and Michael Acri Boxing Promotions, in association with Pittsburgh Brewing, present "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting!" starring "The Pittsburgh Kid," undefeated former IBF lightweight champion PAUL SPADAFORA! Spadafora, 37-0-1 (14 KOs), returns to the ring fresh from his successful jr. welterweight debut a 10-round unanimous decision victory over Ruben Galvan, April 29. Spadafora's 10-round jr. welterweight bout headlines an action-packed card, Saturday, July 17, at the Chevrolet Amphitheatre at Station Square in downtown Pittsburgh. The first bout starts at 7:30 P.M.

Spadafora will rumble, in a battle of undefeated contenders, with Costa Rican lightweight and welterweight champion FRANCISCO CAMPOS, 20-0 (12 KOs) in a jr. welterweight bout scheduled for 10 rounds.

Two undefeated Pittsburgh heavyweights -- Abraham "The African Assassin" Okine, 12-0, fresh from winning the IBC Americas title, and Ricky Carter, 2-0, in separate bouts, will highlight the sensational undercard which already features undefeated area prospects -- Pittsburgh's exciting jr. welterweight Joe Wyatt, 16-0 (11 KOs), and power-punching cruiserweight Dan Harvison, 8-0 (6 KOs), from McKeesport. Other bouts will be announced in the near future.

"Campos will give Paul a tough test in the jr. welterweight waters," said Michael Acri, Spadafora's promoter. "Paul has been training very hard. He knows he will have to be at his best when he faces Campos. I am very excited with the additions of Okine and Canton to the undercard. Downtown Pittsburgh is going to really rock with the action these big men are going to bring into the ring. It is going to be a great night of boxing."

Tickets to "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting" are on sale and priced at $100 (Golden Ringside), $50 (Ringside), $35 (reserved) and $20 (General Admission).
