Nathan King: According to earlier reports by several sources, a possible match-up between former middleweight king Jermain Taylor (27-2-1, 17 KO) and former four-division champ and former p4p king Roy Jones Jr. (52-4, 38 KO) can take place as early as June. Taylor has apparently already agreed to the fight and is willing to give Jones Jr. the larger share of the purse..
Although nothing has been made official, talks have started, and interviews with the fighters and promoters should be underway shortly. Jones Jr. is coming off a January 19th unanimous decision victory over Puerto Rican former champion Felix Trinidad, while Taylor has just recently been defeated by way of unanimous decision to middleweight king Kelly Pavlik this past Saturday, February 16th.
