James Prince Close To Signing Deal With James “Lights Out” Toney!
14.07.04 - By Carlos “Stiff-jab” Kalinchuk: This Tuesday, Rap mogul and Boxing Manager James Prince confirmed that he is on the verge of signing James “Lights Out” Toney. If all goes well (as it appears to be), James Toney will join a bevy of other fighters who are currently being managed by James Prince. Prince currently manages Diego Corrales, Steve Forbes, Mark “Too Sharp” Johnson, Ricardo Williams, and Ronald “Winky” Wright (to name a few). “We are on the verge of signing James Toney too so we are continuing to grow and develop our fighters so they are treated fairly and with dignity. In fact this deal with Toney is so serious, he will be here personally tomorrow so we can iron out the details.”

When I asked him about his sudden love for boxing, Prince added, “I had a passion for boxing long before the music industry. Music only distracted me temporarily but I never lost my vision for boxing.” It’s evident that Prince’s meteoric rise within the boxing establishment is beginning to mirror his success in the rap music world. Will he one day manage nearly all the major players in the boxing industry like he does with many in the rap music industry? Who knows, but where many others have failed, he appears to have turned his passion for boxing into a very successful enterprise for himself and his fighters. Stay tuned for more on my interview with one of boxings hottest and fastest growing managers.
