Hanshaw Scores Quick Canton KO

17.07.04 - By Jim Amato: Unbeaten Anthony Hanshaw of Mansfield, Ohio moved his record to 18-0 by crushing Victor Maciel in 79 seconds of the first round. The fans had barely settled in their seats when a four punch flurry by Hanshaw ended the proceedings. It was Hanshaw's thirteenth career knockout. It was also his eighth first round blitz. Despite his record Hanshaw is not really a one punch KO artist.

Hopefully Anthony will stay active and live up to the promise of his fine amatuer career. He struggled to beat the now world rated Kingsley Ikeke a few years back. He was not very impressive in outscoring journeymen Dana Rucker and E.T. Whitaker either. Inactivity has been damaging to Anthony's progress. One round blow outs of boxers like Maciel are nice to pad Anthony's record but he needs to step up the competition.

Anthony's head appears to be back in the game. He has loads of talent. Remember this is a guy who was considered as good a prospect as Jermaine Taylor and look at where Taylor is today.
