Vazquez-Marquez III To Re-Air On SHOWTIME This Week

Israel VazquezNEW YORK (March 4, 2008) – SHOWTIME will re-air the instant classic Vazquez-Marquez III SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast in its entirety tonight, Tuesday, March 4 (SHO2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT) and Wednesday, March 5 (SHOWTIME at 11 p.m. ET/PT). Subscribers can also catch the scintillating match anytime at SHOWTIME On Demand (where available).

Last Saturday, March 1, Israel Vazquez and Rafael Marquez completed one of the most thrilling trilogies in boxing history when they met for the WBC and Ring Magazine super bantamweight world titles. Vazquez-Marquez III accomplished one of those rare feats in professional boxing—it lived up to the hype and produced 12 rounds of non-stop action.

The fight took place in front of a packed and star-studded crowd at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. The reported 8,104 in attendance was the largest crowd in the tennis stadium.

The best boxing on television continues live this Saturday night on SHOWTIME with the highly anticipated world title unification bout between World Boxing Organization (WBO) Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Maccarinelli and newly crowned World Boxing Council (WBC)/World Boxing Association (WBA) 190-pound champion David Haye. The SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast will air live from the O2 Arena in London, England, at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast) on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING. The event will start at 2 a.m. in England.
