Bunema out of ESPN2 Fight

19.07.04 - The Alex Bunema vs. Emmett Linton title fight has been scrubbed from the ESPN2 July 30th card at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA. As of late Sunday night it was discovered that Bunema had obtained an injury that would not allow him to fight until late August. This main event was the talk of the boxing world and now we are just left to wonder about what the results might have been.

“This fight was a couple of local kids and everyone was buzzing about it”, said promoter Brian Halquist. “We received word last night and were faxed a note and diagnosis from his doctor. It’s boxing, what do you do? The show must go on, so we are looking for a replacement and we will have one shortly”.

The Linton- Bunema fight was for Bunema’s WBC Continental Americas’ title.

The Semi-main bout to be televised is cruiserweights Chad Van Sickle (17-0-2) vs. Luke Munsen (16-1-0).

The Undercard and the new main event opponent for Emmett Linton will be announced shortly so stay tuned for another exciting episode of Battle at the Boat, July 30th 2004 at the Emerald Queen Casino.

Tickets are on sale at the Emerald Queen Casino gift shop and all Ticketmaster locations.
