Weight And See: Dawson Looks Awesome

LAS VEGAS, NEV (April 4, 2008) -- Following a hearty breakfast, undefeated WBC light heavyweight champion CHAD DAWSON stepped on the scale this morning and weighed 176 pounds at his official WBC seven-day weigh-in. "After I chow down on Glen Johnson next week, it's on to Clinton Woods and his titles for dessert," said Tarver (25-0, 17 KOs), from Hartford, Conn. "There is no way Antonio Tarver survives his fight with Woods. Woods is going to make hash out of 'The Magic Spam;, er Man.."

Dawson, who has reigned supreme as world champion for 14 months, makes his third world title defense, against former world champion and "Fighter of the Year" Glen Johnson (47-11-2, 32 KOs), from Miami, FL. The Dawson-Johnson world title fight is one half of a spectacular light heavyweight championship doubleheader, coupled with the Antonio Tarver-Clinton Woods IBO-IBF title unification fight. Promoted by Gary Shaw Productions and AT Entertainment, in association with Fight Academy, both fights will be televised live from the St. Pete Times Forum on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/9 p.m. PT (delayed on the west coast.) Remaining tickets, priced from $27.75, are on sale at the McDonald's Box Office at the St. Pete Times Forum Box Office and all TicketMaster outlets. Charge by phone at 813-287-8844 or 727-898-2100 or log onto Ticketmaster.com
