2007 US Championships bronze medal winner, Jonathan Nelson began his career on the professional stage with a solid, unanimous decision victory over Devin Laney over the course of four rounds. Scores were 40-36 (twice) and 39-36 .
Tonga native heavyweight, Bowie Tupou scored an unimpressive unanimous points victory over a grossly uninspired Ramon Hayes, who’s less than gloomy record now drops to 15-26-1. Scores were 59-57 (twice) and 58-56 for Tupou who moves his record to 14-0 with 11 knockouts.
All three judges saw female trialhorse, Laura Ramsey (now 9-3 with four knockouts) the winner after her dominant performance against an overmatched Alexandra Maloy, who hit the deck once in the fourth and final round. Scores across the board were 40-35.
Opening up the card, former heavyweight title challenger Danny Williams (now 38-6 with 30 knockouts) scored a unanimous shutout of journeyman, Marcus McGhee over the course of six, uneventful rounds. Williams scored a pair of knockdowns against McGhee in rounds one and four. Scores across the board were 60-52.
