Van Sickle Ready To Step Up

27.07.04 - Chad Van Sickle built his record by taking any fight he could get, any where he could get it. He even took fights on the shortest of notice, because of this, Van Sickle ended up on TV three times including two ESPN2 Friday Night Fight shows. In both of those cases Van Sickle fought in his opponents’ home towns and both times despite the crowd being against him Van Sickle came out victorious. As a matter of fact, other than 2 draws Van Sickle has won 17 fights and has never lost in his career as a professional boxer. 12 of those wins have come by way of Knock Outs.

Now Van Sickle will put his undefeated record on the line as he faces another up and coming prospect, the hard hitting Luke Munsen whose 16-1 record is a force to be reckoned with.

The two will be fighting for the vacant WBC Continental Americas cruiserweight title. “It has been my dream to fight for a title,” said Van Sickle.

Van Sickle who started boxing at age 15 is realizing that his dream for a title can come true if he applies himself and really trains hard. He now with new trainer Mathis Hill is focusing on improving his defense because he knows that Munsen has a mean left hook and just being a hard hitter will not keep his record at zero unless he really works at it. When asked who he tries to imitate in the boxing world he said, “I try and be like Chad Van Sickle”, After all a win on Friday night would give him a title and he would prove that being like Chad Van Sickle is what it takes to keep his losses at zero and elevate him in his quest for boxing domination.

July 30th 2004; Friday Night Fight ESPN2 at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, WA beginning at 6pm. Come watch Van Sickle and Munsen Battle for the title in the Semi-Main Event and the Main Event featuring Emmett “Laser” Linton (24-4-2, 12KO’s) vs. Dorian “Quiet Storm” Beaupierre (11-1-2, 5KO’s) and other exciting fights.
