Watch the fight live this Saturday on eastsideboxing.com -- photos: M.A. Sayer - Local hero „Mini-Tyson“ Selcuk Aydin and former title holder Lucky Lewele presented themselves well prepared and very optimistic at the official weigh-in for their WBC international championship bout in Trabzon tomorrow (Saturday, April 26th)..
In front of 200 enthusiastic fans and 50 journalists Aydin stated: “My record is 14 fights, 14 wins and 12 k.o.s – tomorrow it will be 15 wins and 13 k.o.s!”
Lewele had his trainer Nicholas Durandt answer for him: “At the moment I train 9 reigning WBC international champions at our gym – after tomorrow’s fight it will be 10! Selcuk makes a mistake if he thinks that it will be a short fight. It will be a long and hard battle and Lucky will walk out the new champ.”
On the undercard Cuban heavyweight sensation Odlanier Solis wants to add another victory to his record of 8-0-0 incl. 5 stoppages. But his opponent Mamuka Jikurashvili from Georgia is unbeaten as well (20-0-0, 14 kos).
“One streak will come to an end”, stated Solis. “And it will definitely not be mine. I don’t care who I’m fighting and what’s his record. I will beat everybody who crosses my way to the top.”
