Ricky Hatton won’t quit yet

08.07.08 - British boxing hero Ricky Hatton has played down reports in the press that he only has two fights left in him. While Hatton admits he is entering ‘the home straight’ of his career, he has no intention of hanging up his gloves just yet..

Speaking to Setanta Sports News Hatton said:

“Everybody wants to fight Ricky Hatton these days; with the fan base I’ve got, the following I’ve got and how exciting my fights are.

“I feel like I’m performing better than I’ve ever performed. I don’t want to turn round and say ‘one more fight, two more fights, three more fights’.

“When you’re in a position like I am and you’re performing like I am, retirement doesn’t come into my thinking really.”
