Boxing News: Ricardo Mayorga Quotes, Mark Brown KOs Tony Grano

RICARDO MAYORGA (Post-fight quotes taken in the ring): "I was proud of the way Shane fought, like a true champion. He didn't run. I thought I was doing well in the fight, and I came out to win it in the last round, but Shane caught me. I will tell that he hit harder than I thought he would." After the 11th round, the judges at ringside at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., had the fight scored:

105-104 Mayorga - Pat Russell
105-104 Mosley - Nelson Vasquez
107-102 Mosley - Tony Crebs

Referee: David Mendoza - Shane Mosley (W) TKO 12 - 2:59

OAKTREE VICTOROUS. Mark Brown new WBF Americas Heavyweight Champion

Salem, New Jersey's, Mark 'Oaktree' Brown 14-1 (7KOs), is the new WBF Americas Heavyweight Champion after a dramatic knockout of Tony Grano 14-1-1 (12KOs), in just over 1 minute of the 8th round at the Harbor Yard Arena, Bridgeport.

The plucky Brown, who overcame two knockdowns on his way to victory overthe previously undefeated Grano, could barely hide his joy as he said "I'm The Champ. I took him in his own backyard, he had me down twice but I got up off the canvas and battled back. I thought I'd do him in the 7th, but he held up. So I did him in the 8th. I told you I would knock him out. This is my first title, I told you I'd do it. Now I'm going after the others. I trained really hard for this but wouldn't be here, holding the belt, if it wasn't for Sporty (Sporty Smith, his Manager), who had faith in me. He's the best. We're unstoppable, we're a team. I'm the Champ. You know if you want entertaining who to come and see.

OAKTREE, OAKTREE, OAKTREE. I'm The Champ."

There's going to be one serious party back in Salem when Brown returns, but you can be sure that after that, Oaktree, will be straight back in training for his next fight as Brown, the Entertainer, loves an audience.
