Boxing News: Travis Kauffman; Bayan Jargal; Rumble Time Promotions

Heavyweight prospect Travis Kauffman will attempt to raise his record to 15 straight wins without a defeat on January 16, 2009 at the Million Dollar Elm Casino in Tulsa, OK. Kauffman's bout is scheduled for 6 rounds on the untelevised portion of the Gary Shaw Productions/Holden Productions-promoted edition of ShoBox: The New Generation. His opponent will be named shortly..

"I'm more committed to the sport than I've ever been before in my life," says Kauffman, 14-0 (11 KO) of Reading, PA. "I hope the fans in Oklahoma come out because I plan on putting on a great show. The fans will not be disappointed."

The 23-year-old Kauffman last fought December 5th, destroying Malachy Farrell in Santa Ynez, CA. Kauffman rose to the occasion in his first televised appearance, scoring a first round knockdown en route to the knockout victory. Farrell had never previously been knocked down or stopped.

"I know that the TV dates are there and that I have to always be ready," says Kauffman, 14-0 (11 KO) of Reading, PA. "I haven't taken any days off from the gym since my last fight. I have to stay focused and always be at my best because people are looking at me now."

Kauffman was a highly decorated amateur, finishing with a 52-12 record. The highlights of his amateur career include a gold medal in the 2004 PAL Nationals, as well as several international tournament wins. He was ranked number one in the country when he turned pro in 2006.

"I believe everybody is put on this Earth for a reason," Kauffman says. "And mine is to become Heavyweight Champion of the World."

“LET’S GET IT ON” PROMOTIONS SIGNS BAYAN JARGAL

MONGOLIAN PROSPECT TO MAKE LAS VEGAS DEBUT ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 23RD

RENO, NV (December 26, 2008) Reno ’s "Let’s Get It On” Promotions has announced the signing of undefeated lightweight prospect Bayan Jargal of Arlington , Virginia .

“Tommy and I have watched him for a while and we truly believe with his continued growth he can be a world champion” said promoter Terry Lane . “As always, with a prospect the plan is keeping him busy and challenged and that’s our goal for 2009.”

The all action 26 year old Jargal, has amassed a professional record of 9-0-1 (6KO’s) since turning professional in November 2006. He finished his amateur career with an 80-10 record and represented Mongolia in the 2004 World Games.

Jargal is coming off an eighth round TKO of Doel Carrasquillo on November 6th in Washington, D.C. He will make his debut under the “Let’s Get It On” promotional banner on Friday, January 23rd at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV .

Said manager J.D. Brown, “Bayan’s a real crowd pleaser. The fans love his aggressiveness and we’re looking towards a big 2009 for him. He wants to fight every week and we’ll look to keep him very busy, maybe once a month in the New Year. He’s always training and worked very closely with Paul Williams for most of 2008.”

Brown has managed former world champions William Joppy and Demarcus Corley in addition to working as an advisor to boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard.

“Bayan and I are very happy to be working with the Lane’s and along with their matchmaker Chris Middendorf, it should be a very productive relationship” continued Brown.

Rumble Time partners with DiBella

Steve Smith and Rumble Time Promotions formally announce an agreement with Lou DiBella and DiBella Entertainment (NY) in partnership promoting the career of Deandre “The Bull” Latimore.

Combined, Rumble Time and DiBella, move forward preparing for Latimore’s upcoming fight against fellow St. Louisan Cory Spinks.

The official date for the championship fight between Latimore and Spinks, is expected to be announced soon with St. Louis hosting the epic battle.

The IBF has given the handlers of Spinks and Latimore an extension to formalize an agreement for the fight filling the vacant Junior Middleweight Title.

Smith, the President of Rumble Time, says it’s very exciting to have Lou DiBella, the former HBO executive, joining the team assisting with the growth of Deandre Latimore. We look forward to this long lasting partnership in shaping The Bull's world championship career.
