Glen Johnson Post Fight Quotes/Roy Jones Jr. Taken to Hospital

26.09.04 - Glen Johnson: "I beat him at his own game…a lot of of guys who try and fight Roy form the outside but I wanted to stay in on him. I just wanted to send a message ….no, Roy never hurt me, nobody knows I have a knock out punch because nobody sees me fight, I fight overseas a lot…I looked for him with the left hook then I waited and got no response so I hit him again…my speed offset his speed so no his speed was not a factor….ill fight anybody, I’m not the best but ill fight anybody, ill fight anyone who wants to fight me."

Roy Jones Jr. Taken to Hospital

Roy Jones, Jr. was examined in the locker room following tonight’s fight. Following the examination, the doctor proclaimed Jones OK. However, since it was the second time he had been knocked out, it was recommended that he go to the hospital for a catscan. Jones agreed to go to the hospital, but refused the aide of a wheelchair.

Jones was transported to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis via ambulance.

While on the ground during the knockout, Jones’ eyes were tested and everything passed there also (pupil reaction and side-to-side test). He knew where was at all times. The reason Jones stayed in the ring so long…he wanted to by fully comfortable before he got to his feet.
