Lamon Brewster vs Michael Sprott On Abraham-Simon Undercard
Team Sauerland is pleased to announce a prominent new signing: Former WBO heavyweight champion Lamon “Relentless” Brewster (34-4, 30 KOs) has inked a contract with the Berlin-based promoters. The 35-year-old American will return to the ring on March 14 in Kiel when he takes on former EU heavyweight champion Michael Sprott on the undercard of the IBF middleweight title fight between King Arthur Abraham and Lajuan Simon. “We are pleased to welcome Lamon Brewster to our team,” Sauerland Event General Manager Chris Meyer said. “He is one of the biggest names in the heavyweight scene. He has been in the ring with many big fighters and he has already made spectacular fights in Germany. Apart from King Arthur, the fans in Kiel will be thrilled to get a first-hand look at another strong puncher..”
Brewster is no stranger to the German fans. In April 2004, he stopped Wladimir Klitschko in the fifth round of their WBO heavyweight title fight in Las Vegas. In September 2005, Brewster defended his title with a spectacular ninth-round TKO victory over Luan Krasniqi in Hamburg. In July 2007, Klitschko avenged the humiliating defeat and stopped him in front of a sell-out crowd in Cologne.
Brewster will make his first public appearance for Team Sauerland on Tuesday during the official media work-out in Kiel.
