Kentikian Dominates Reid

By Per Ake Persson: March 21, Hamburg, Germany: Susianna Kentikian retained the WIBF and WBA female flyweight titles with a ten round unanimous decision over outclassed American challenger Elena Reid. The judges scored the fight 100-90 twice and 100-91. Reid had her day back in 2004 when she looked very unlucky to only get a draw with Regina Halmich, who was commentator for Pro Sieben on this show. Off this showing it looks time for "Baby Doll" to do something else than boxing as the agressive Kentikian dominated every round..

WBO I/C middleweight champ Sebastian Zbik knocked out Spanish challenger Ruben Varon in the fourth with a left hook to the body. The bigger, stronger German dominated the contest but Varon, down in the second as well, showed a big heart in defeat.

Heavyweight Sebastian Koeber hurt Belgian Jean Claude Bikoi in the second and forced a standing eight count but didn´t land the finisher until the tenth round. The German dominated most of the rounds except the seventh and eighth but didn´t impress. His right hand is very powerful though and saved the day for him.

Russian lightheavy Igor Michalkin outscored Nigel Benn lookalike (in style of fighting too) Jose Tavares from France over six.

Sebastian Zbik KOs Ruben Varon

WBO #1/WBA #2/WBC #3 rated middleweight Sebastian Zbik (26-0, 10 KOs) scored a fourth round knockout over former world title challenger Ruben Varon (31-5, 15 KOs) to defend his WBO Inter-Continental belt. It was a body shot that ended it at 2:13.

Unbeaten heavyweight Sebastian Köber (18-0, 13 KOs) scored a tenth round KO over Jean Claude Bikoi (15-10-1, 8 KOs). Time was 1:02.

Unbeaten light heavyweight Igor Michalkin (9-0, 7 KOs), coming off a second round demolition of former title challenger DeAndrey Abron on March 7, won a six round unanimous decision over Jose Tavares (11-3, 4 KOs) by scores of 59-56, 60-54, 59-56

Local super welterweight Arthur Matern (4-0) topped Michael Recloux (10-8-2, 3 KOs) over four by scores of 39-37, 40-37, 39-38.

In the main event, unbeaten WIBF/WBA female flyweight world champion Susi “Killer Queen” Kentikian (24-0, 16 KOs) scored a one-sided ten round unanimous decision over highly regarded contender Elena “Baby Doll” Reid (19-5-6, 5 KOs) on Friday night at the Sporthalle Hamburg in Hamburg, Germany. Reid, who fought two close fights with female ring legend Regina Halmich in 2004 and 2005, was never in this one as the big-punching champion Kentikian was too fast and too aggressive, wading in and delivering punishment throughout. Although outgunned, the game ‘Baby Doll’ bravely battled to the end, but there was no question whose hand would be raised. Scores were 100-90, 100-90, 100-91.
