Hatton / Pacquiao, Tale of the Tape Done, Weights are In!

Jason Sardelis - May 1st, MGM, Las Vegas, Nevada: Boxing’s pound for pound #1 fighter, Phillipines Manny “Pac Man “ Pacquiao 48-3-2, 26Ko’s and Britian’s Ricky “Hitman” Hatton 45-1, 32Ko’s finalized the tale of the tape for their IBO light welterweight championship fight tomorrow night. A strapping confident looking “Pac Man” pressed the scale to 138lbs. The brawny “Hitman” climbed the scale after acknowledging his large contingent of singing fans weighing in at the class limit 140lbs. Both fighters looked trim, well conditioned and “Ready to Rumble..

hattonThere is no question weigh-ins can tell a story. Pacquiao weighed in for his fight with Oscar DeLahoya at 142lbs while the Golden Boy weighed in at 145lbs.. Fight night Pacquiao unofficially weighed in at 148.5lbs and De La Hoya only put on 2 pounds coming in at 147lbs. De La Hoya only putting on two pounds actually made Pacquiao the bigger man. I saw it as a clear sign De La Hoya trained more to make weight than prepare to fight.

Pacquiao started at 106lbs working his way up only stopping at lightweight once before the De La Hoya fight it’s tomorrows weights that will tell the story.

Tomorrow evening after watching the Kentucky Derby tune in and watch two of boxing’s thoroughbreds face off when the East Meets the West and Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao rumbles with Ricky “Hitman” Hatton 9:00pm ET / 6:00 Pm PT Live on HBO ay Per View.
