War In Ozamis: Asia versus Africa
By: Benjie Varella – The long awaited battle between Asia and Africa for the WBO regional title bouts are all set today (May23, 5pm-Manila time) at the Medina Gymnasium, Ozamis City, Philippines. One of the country’s boxing prospect hard-hitting Jundy “Pretty Boy”Maraon (13-0-1, 10KO’s) will defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific Bantamweight against Tanzanian Anthony Mathias (23-11-1, 11KO’s)..
Appearing in the main undercard is a bout between Filipino Rommel “Little Assasin” Asenjo (13-2, 11KO’s) against another Tanzanian fighter Sadiki Abdulazizi (7-2, 4KO’s) for the vacant WBO Miniflyweight Oriental title.
The War in Ozamis will be supervised by WBO Asia Pacific Chairman Leon Panoncillo as well as promoter Sammy Gello-ani.
