Sylvester and Lorenzo clash for King Arthur´s belt on September 19

Sebastian Sylvester (31-3, 15 KOs) and Giovanni Lorenzo (27-1, 19 KOs) will clash for the vacant IBF Middleweight Title in Neubrandenburg on September 19. After ten successful defences, King Arthur Abraham had vacated the title to participate in SHOWTIME´s sensational Super Six World Boxing Classic Tournament..

“The IBF ordered a title fight between the top-ranked challenger, Giovanni Lorenzo, and the number two, Sebastian Sylvester,” Team Sauerland General Manager Chris Meyer said. “We picked up negotiations with Lorenzo´s management straight away and we are pleased to announce that the bout will be staged in Germany. The great crowd in Neubrandenburg will give Sebastian a further boost in this difficult fight.”

The “Hurricane” is thrilled to fight for the world title again. “I cancelled my holiday straight away when I got the news,” he said. “I returned to practice immediately to be in top shape on September 19. I am sure my home fans in Neubrandenburg will help me to leave the ring victorious.” Sylvester has already knocked out Javier Castillejo and Gaetano Nespro in the East German city.

His coach Karsten Rower will conduct a special training camp on Rugen (Baltic Sea) next week before continuing the preparation in Berlin and Schwerin. “I know it will be a very difficult fight. That is why I will work extremely hard during the preparation. I will do everything to fulfil my dream,” the former European Middleweight Champion added.
