Harris stops Urkal in 11th round!

10.23.04 - WBA welterweight champion Vivian Harris knocked out Oktay Urkal of Germany in the 11th round on Saturday night in Berlin, Germany. Harris (25-1-1) retained his WBA title for the 3rd time since winning it in October 2003. The fight was close up to the point where Harris hit Urkal with a monstrous uppercut that sent him down in the 11th round.

Urkal was able to get to his feet, but his staggering caused the referee to stop the fight. Afterwards, Urkal hinted that he would retire rather then wait another 3 to 4 years for another title shot.
