The Hawthorne Race Course is located at 35th and Laramie on the Chicago/Cicero border, just minutes from both the Eisenhower and Stevenson expressways. Doors open at 6pm with the first bell scheduled for 7pm.
Commenting on the change of venue, Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions said,
"There were some issues with the technical production at the Riviera that concerned me and since we've had so much success on the South Side with Hawthorne we're going to go there. The crowds have been great there and we're adding a couple of large sections of reserved general admission to satisfy the big crowds. Tickets which have already been purchased will be honored at Hawthorne on the night of the show and no exchange is necessary."
The main event is a terrific matchup between world ranked featherweight Steven Luevano 25-0, (12KO's)of La Puente, CA and and Hector "Chocalate" Marquez, 28-9 (21KO's) of Mexico City, Mexico in a scheduled ten rounder.
The co-main event features the return to Chicago of Juan Buendia, 4-0 (2KO's) of Detroit, MI in a scheduled eight round junior welterweight bout against Rogelio Barron, 9-3 (3KO's) of Fort Worth, TX.
