MARVELOUS TARVIS SIMMS
This weekend will see three more members of the Star Boxing stable looking to add impressive victories to their resumes, starting on Friday night when "Marvelous" Tarvis Simms (25-0-1, 11KO) takes on top rated super middleweight Allan Green (28-1, 20KO) in the ten round main event on Showtime's Showbox: The Next Generation.
On Saturday, the hottest young prospect in all of boxing, jr. middleweight Demetrius Andrade (7-0, 6KO), looks to showcase his skills once again in front of his hometown fans, when he takes on fellow undefeated prospect, Chris Chatman (4-0, 2KO) at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, Rhode Island. The bout is scheduled for six rounds in the jr. middleweight division. It will be Andrade's, who is co- promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, second fight against a fellow unbeaten prospect at the Twin River in the last month.
TERRANCE "THE HEAT" CAUTHEN
Also on Saturday seeing action is jr. middleweight contender Terrance "The Heat" Cauthen (33-5, 9KO). Cauthen takes on Canada's unbeaten Antonin Decarie (22-0, 6KO) in the main event bout of the evening at The Casino of Montreal in Montreal, Canada. The bout is scheduled for ten rounds.
"Devin and Roberto both picked up good wins on Wednesday, hopefully we pick up three more and make it a clean sweep this weekend," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. "We have three of our guys taking on three opponents with a combined record of 54-1, so as you can see all three of these fights are very important. Demetrius has the pleasure of fighting at home in front of his hometown fans and supporters, Tarvis and Terrance aren't that lucky though as they both are having to enter into hostile territory when they take on their respective foes. While we can't be certain of the outcomes, what we can be certain of is that Demetrius, Tarvis and Terrance all have the ability to put on exciting and entertaining fights for those in attendance and those watching at home on TV."

ANDRADE RETURNS TO THE TWIN RIVER THIS SATURDAY!
On Saturday October 3rd, the 2007 Amateur world champion, and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade (7-0, 6KO) returns to the Twin River Event Center, in Lincoln, RI for the second time in a month when he takes on fellow unbeaten Chris Chatman (4-0, 2KO). The bout is scheduled for six rounds in the jr. middleweight division.
The 21-year-old Andrade, who hails from nearby Providence, RI and is promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, last saw action On September 4th at the Twin River, handing previously unbeaten, three-time golden gloves champion, John Williams a vicious beat down, before the referee finally had seen enough and called a halt to the contest at 2:33 of the sixth and final round.
The 25-year-old Chatman, a southpaw like Andrade, is coming off an impressive fourth round TKO victory over previously undefeated Francisco Mora back in August of this year.
This will be Andrade's sixth opponent as a pro that he has faced that has at least a winning record, with three of the opponents being undefeated.
"This is another test for Demetrius, these are anything but easy fights" stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. "Even before he ever stepped into the ring as a pro, Artie (Art Pelullo, President of Banner Promotions) and I knew we had something really special in Demetrius. Through his first seven fights he has not disappointed, as he has looked nothing less then spectacular, and he gets better each and every time out. We expect another great performance from him this Saturday and another special treat for all of his hometown fans."
ANOTHER STAR FIGHTER ANOTHER SAVED SHOW CAUTHEN REPLACES ALVAREZ
On October 3rd, Star Boxing's jr. middleweight contender, Terrance "The Heat" Cauthen (33-5, 9KO), will travel into enemy territory when he battles it out against Canada's unbeaten Antonin Decarie (22-0, 6KO) over ten rounds in the main event bout of the evening at The Casino of Montreal in Montreal, Canada.
The former USBA jr. middleweight champ Cauthen, who was also a 1995 U.S. Amateur champion, and 1996 Olympic bronze medal winner, is a late replacement for fellow Star Boxing stable-mate Shamone Alvarez. Alvarez was injured this week in training, forcing him to pull out from the match. Cauthen joins Star Boxing's super middleweight contender Tarvis Simms (25-0-1, 11KO) as the second Star Boxing fighter this week to jump into a main event bout as a late replacement. Coincidently both fights are taking place in very hostile territory. While Cauthen takes on the Canadian Decarie, in Canada on Saturday, on Friday, on Showtime's Shobox: The Next Generation, Simms takes on Oklahoma's top-rated super middleweight contender Allan Green (28-1, 20KO) at the First Council Casino in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
"Unfortunately Shamone suffered an injury the other day training that caused him to have to pull out of the bout, fortunately for us Cauthen was ready to go, so here we are," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and founder of Star Boxing. "This is a big fight for Terrance. He has been hovering around the top of the welterweight and jr. middleweight divisions for a long time now, a win against the unbeaten Decarie will propel him back into the top of world ratings, and set him up for a shot against one of the top contenders, or champions out there."
The Cauthen - Decarie bout is presented by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing in association with GYM Promotions.
