Helenius vs Bidenko, Frenkel vs Davis on Haye-Valuev Undercard
By Per Ake Persson - Finnish-Swedish heavy Robert Helenius, 9-0, is moved fast by Sauerland Event and will take on Ukrainian Taras Bidenko November 7 in Nuremberg on the undercard to Valuev vs Haye. Bidenko lost earlier this year the WBA I/C title to then stablemate Dennis Boytsov and was at the time as high as # 6 in the WBA ratings. Itīs not expected that Bidenko is what he once was but he still represents a big step up on the ladder for Robert..
Should all go well Helenius is likely to fight ex-WBO king Lamon Brewster December 5 in Ludwigsburg.
Another fighter that is moved even faster is Bulgarian heavy Kubran Pulev, 2-0. He will fight Gbenga Oloukun in Nuremberg and he will be pushed forward as fast as Sven Ottke was - and Ottke was fighting ten-rounders at the end of his first year as a pro and became world champ at the end of the second. Since heavyweight boxing is different the same canīt be expected here but Pulev is one to watch.
Cruiser Alexander Frenkel is almost there and will face a big test in former IBF ruler Kelvin Davis in Nuremberg. The hard punching Frenkel has had a lot of problems with his right hand - so many that he after knocking out Cory Phelps in May 08 was looking at a career end but decided to give it another try and rely more on his almost as heavy left hook. So far so good and in 09 Alexander has scored five wins inside the distance wins and is now 20-0.
