ITV To Broadcast Khan vs Malignaggi

ITV1 will broadcast live coverage of Amir Khan’s WBA world title defence against Paulie Malignaggi from New York’s Madison Square Garden in the early hours of Sunday May 16th.

The fight, against Brooklyn-based Malignaggi, is Bolton-born Khan’s second defence of his WBA world light-welterweight title and his first ever to be held in the United States..

Presenter Jim Rosenthal will be ringside at the world famous boxing venue, alongside former world champion Barry McGuigan. John Rawling and Duke McKenzie provide commentary.

Coverage will begin at 0245 BST on ITV1. The fight will be repeated later in the morning of Sunday 16th May at 1030BST and on ITV4 at 1930BST.

ITV Controller of Sport, Niall Sloane said: “We are delighted to bring ITV viewers Amir Khan’s first USA outing in defence of his title from the legendary Madison Square Garden.”

Earlier in the day on May 15th, ITV1 broadcasts live coverage of The FA Cup Final from Wembley, as Chelsea take on Portsmouth.
