Battle at the Boat XXV: Ellis vs Lewis on Dec. 6

28.11.03 - Kenny Ellis makes his return to the ring Saturday December 6, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. Ellis will face journeyman fighter Willard Lewis from Edmonton Canada in a 10 round super middle weight main event. The former NABO middleweight champ Ellis is coming off of a disappointing loss to Kingsley Ikeke. The ESPN2 televised fight was for three titles: the NABO, the NABA and the NABF. The fight was stopped in the 6th round due to a cut in on Ellis’s nose.

“Kenny is ready to continue his career” said promoter Brian Halquist. “The loss was a temporary set back.”

Lewis lost a split decision to Mark Woolnaugh for the Canadian light heavyweight title this year. “This will be an exciting fight,” Halquist said. “Kenny will be basically fighting near light heavy weight for this one.”

The undercard will see local favorite David Torres of Othello, Washington take on pro-debuter Subula Knuckles.
