Vivek Wallace: Open Letter to Eastside Boxing Fight Fans

Hello Fight Fans, For those unaware who have inquired about my recent absence, the last few weeks have been a very trying time in my life. Two weeks ago my Father lost his sister, (my aunt), and as of last Friday, May 28, his wife, (my Step-Mother), unfortunately expired as well. Adding to the pain is the fact that May 29th was the anniversary of the tragic death of my best friend who served with me in the U.S. Marine Corp..

All in all, it has been a very tough timeline for both my family and I, and although my heart is forever in the fight game, my head is currently trapped between the 'lines' that chronicle my personal story of life. Funeral services will be held next Sunday, June 6th, to accommodate family members returning from the U.K. and elsewhere overseas. I will remain behind the shadows for a bit longer, but plan to briefly divert my attention to the world of boxing as Puerto Rican warrior Miguel Cotto returns to the ring against undefeated and well respected Yuri Foreman on the night of June 5th, live from Yankees Stadium.

For now, I have family duties to attend, but upon my return, I greatly look forward to mixing it up and doing what we all love to do........which is analyze, debate, and for some, perhaps even instigate (Smiles). In closing, I would just like to say THANK YOU to those who have sent condolences, as well as those who plan to going forward.

Peace,

Vivek
