Speaking at today’s weigh in, Murray is in top condition and benefiting from a run of fights that will see him in action three times in the space of six weeks and good sparring with the likes of Jamie Conlan and Kevin O’Hara:
“It’s what you want as a young boxer to keep busy and I am very happy with that.”
“I am just off the Limerick show [undercard of Lee-Thiam] and I have been in training for four or five weeks and I haven’t had a break – so my fitness is good and I am just happy with the way everything has gone.
“I am in good form, I am sharp and I am looking forward to getting another fight out of the way..”
Murray is not looking too far ahead of his opponent Jon Baguley:
“He is an Ingle fighter, he is a nice mover and he likes to come and have a go – it will make for a good fight on Friday – I will be in the centre of the ring waiting for him.
If, as expected, Murray overcomes Baguley and his next opponent in the Brian Peters Promotion in Cork in two weeks time he is well placed to secure a European Title shot at the end of the year.
“You never look past your next fight, if I can get past my next opponent and the one in Cork then all of these things fall into place. You have just got to keep winning and the European Title shot is a possibility”.
