Carl Froch Becomes English Champion

30.11.03 - By Elliot Worsell: Nottingham’s talented super middleweight Carl Froch 10-0 (8 KO’s) clasped his first professional title on Friday night in Derby, as he impressively handed a career first defeat to fellow prospect Alan Page 8-1 (4 KO’s) in 7 rounds for the inaugural English title.

26 year old Froch, a former World Amateur Championships Bronze medallist, and a terrific boxer in the unpaid ranks, had to face 8 fight novice and former England team-mate Page for not only the newly formed English title, but also for a shot at new British champion Tony Dodson. continue
