By Robert Jackson: Ricky Hatton really has sunk low – to allow himself to be videoed allegedly snorting cocaine.
Floyd Mayweather allegedly attacked ex-girlfriend/babies momma Josie Harris last week; wasn’t it not too long ago Mayweather was up on domestic abuse charges filed by Ms. Harris which were eventually dropped? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!
What has happened to the once invincible now invisible Peterson brothers?? Anthony got his ass handed to him Saturday nite and previous to that Lamont went down in defeat to Timothy Bradley. A few years back they were highly touted and avoided by most in the 135lb/140lb divisions. The Brothers from Washington DC were way out ahead of the pack, were they just frontrunners?
Gamboa, Gamboa, Gamboa, was it just Orlando Salido’s style that troubled the Cuban or did he decide to revert back to his amateur style?? Sometimes this guy looks like a ‘world beater’ but Saturday nite Juanma had to be licking his chops at what he saw – prey to be taken! Don’t think Gamboa is ready for Juan Manuel Lopez.
Sam Peter is finished as an elite heavyweight as evidenced by his TKO loss to Wladimir Klitschko in their rematch Saturday nite, but to hear brother Vitali compare Wladdy favorably to Muhammad Ali minus Joe Frazier, George Foreman and Ken Norton, is a STRETCH!!
Looking ahead to next Saturday’s Mosley/Mora battle, expect Mosley to perform better against the ‘Latin Snake’ then he did against Money Mayweather. This fight could be the end for Mosley or open up the doors to bigger and better things. Mora has underachieved in a career that showed promise and brought him to prominence after his winning the 1st ‘Contender’ competition.
Can’t wait for the return of James Kirkland to the ring which is scheduled for late November 2010. What has the 2-year layoff done to/for him? Has he learned his lesson and matured?? Will he be able to recapture his pre-incarceration form?? Will his trainer Anne Wolfe be able to get him ready to fight again?? If he can return to FORM just imagine the matchups in the 154lb/160lb divisions that can be made involving Mr. Kirkland?
