Vitali heavily favored to defeat Briggs

VITALI KLITSCHKO returns to the ring on Saturday to defend his World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight title. The giant Ukrainian is the massive 1-12 odds-on favourite on Betfair to defeat Shannon Briggs when the pair meet at the O2 World Arena in Hamburg.

Entering the ring with odds of 12-1, challenger Briggs is not expected to pose much threat to the reigning 200lb+ champ. The draw is available at 74-1.

Klitschko, undefeated since returning to the ring two years ago, can be backed at 1-4 to KO his Brooklyn-born opponent. Briggs meanwhile is a 13-1 long-shot to win the bout via knockout.

Betfair’s Alex Bake said: “The Klitschkos have dominated the heavyweight division for so long it’s difficult see past a win for Vitali. The punters don’t think Briggs stands a chance.”

Klitschko vs. Briggs Betfair bet: 1-12 Klitschko, 12-1 Briggs, 74-1 the draw

Method of victory Klitschko vs. Briggs Betfair bet: 1-4 Klitschko KO, 6-1 Klitschko decision, 13-1 Briggs KO, 29-1 Briggs decision
