Los Angeles Matadors-Miami Gallos Final Weights
LOS ANGELES (Jan. 12, 2011) – The Los Angeles Matadors will look to avenge their only loss of the season when they host the Miami Gallos tomorrow/Thursday at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live. The Matadors and Gallos weighed-in Wednesday night at ESPN Zone.
Leading the Americas Conference, the Matadors are Los Angeles’ representative in the global World Series of Boxing, a groundbreaking, international sports league with teams from three continents competing for five spots in the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The Matadors will compete against three other North American teams: Miami, Mexico City and Memphis for the next three months with the winner from the North American division advancing to the semifinals to compete against teams from other continents.
The Matadors are hoping to extend their Americas Conference lead over the second-place Gallos in the tight conference race. They’ll rely on Pico Rivera native and 2009 National Championships Silver Medalist Javier Torres.

Bantamweights:
Fernando Martinez – 117 pounds
Jose Luis Meza Ochoa – 117.6 pounds
Lightweights:
Jose Saenz – 133.2 pounds
Adrian Martinez Medina, Jr. – 132.2 pounds
Middleweights:
Russel Lamour – 159.8 pounds
John Joe Joyce – 157.8 pounds
Heavyweights:
Javier Torres – 207.4 pounds
Craig Lewis – 230.6 pounds
NOTE: There will be no light heavyweight bout due to a Matador injury.
