Klitschko vs. Haye Hamburg Press Conference: David calls Wladimir a "Robot"
By Vitali Shaposhnikov: David Haye http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEYs4W1zYQY&feature=player_embedded - Will the “robot malfunction” on July 2? David Haye is trying to convince us that this is exactly what is going to happen to Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg this coming Saturday. During their final press conference in Germany, Haye was as flamboyant and cocky as always, calling Wlad a robot and stating that he is too stiff as a fighter. Haye was happy to learn that Team Klitschko was studying all of his previous fights, and promised to be a completely different fighter come fight night.

While this is nothing new, it is truly refreshing to hear and see a confident heavyweight stand at the podium and talk the talk with some fact behind it. When James Toney talks nowadays, most if not all fans rightfully assume that he will not perform the way he promises to. With Haye, there is a solid “maybe” to his pledge.
Emanuel Steward is confident in his fighter’s ability, and goes on to say that this will be the biggest fight in recent heavyweight history. The most important thing that he mentions during his talk, is the fact that both fighters will be in their prime in this fight, thus no excuses should follow.
Steward also shows a lot of respect towards Haye, noticing that this is one of the very few recent challengers who come to fight with a winning streak.
Steward himself looks calm and confident, and most importantly, he looks and sounds very excited to be a part of this event. I guess the British fans really do it for him!
“Yes, he was late for half and hour today, we’ve all been waiting for you princess, you act like a champ here…” said Wladimir Klitschko to David Haye during the conference. Wlad knows sarcasm? Apparently he is not too bad at it.
Wlad stated that despite the fact that he respects Haye as a fighter, he doesn’t as a person. Since Wlad is a PhD., he promised David a “reality rehab” on July 2 in Germany. This according to Wlad, will make David a better person, and will make him come to his appointments on time from then on.
He ended his speech with a long lecture about hand shaking, asking Haye why he doesn’t want to shake the champion’s hand. He is definitely getting better at selling his fights!
All in all, this is by far the best Wladimir Klitschko press conference I have seen up to this day. Both fighters are ready, genuinely don’t like each other, and both did a great job entertaining the viewers and the press with their clever and aggressive trash talking. Did Wlad talks like a mix of James Toney and Bernard Hopkins: aggressive and wise at the same time!
