Rosado-Collins on 9/9; Herdman takes part in Prizefighter tourney; Firtha-Thompson on 8/13
Philadelphia, PAóJunior middleweights King Gabriel Rosado, of Philadelphia, PA, and Keenan Collins, of Reading, PA, meet for the vacant Pennsylvania State Junior Middleweight Title on Friday evening, Sept. 9, at the Asylum Arena, 7 West Ritner Street.

The Rosado-Collins championship bout, which tops a seven-fight card, will be televised live by Telefutura/Univision beginning at 9 p.m. First of six preliminary bouts begins at 7.30 p.m.
Rosado, 25, is riding the most impressive streak of his career, having won his last three fights, seven of his last nine, 11 of his last 14. Included in those streaks are victories over former International Boxing Federation (IBF) world junior middleweight champ Kassim Ouma, of Uganda, and top contender Saul Roman, of Mexico.
In his last fight July 15 at Ballyís Atlantic City, Rosado (right) knocked out Ayi Bruce, of Ghana, in five rounds.
A pro since 2006, Rosado is 17-5 overall with 10 knockouts. Never one to turn down a tough assignment, Rosado has beaten Latif Mundy, Jamaal Davis, Jose Stinger Medina and James Moore. He has lost to Alfredo Angulo, Derek Ennis (majority decision) and Fernando Guerrero (who was on the floor).
Collins, 34, is coming off a tough 12-round decision loss on June 11 to Charles Whittaker for the vacant USBA junior middleweight title in the Cayman Islands, Whittakerís backyard.
A pro since 2004, Collins (left) is 13-6-2 overall with nine knockouts. In his only other fight this year, Collins K0d Jorge Delgado, of Allentown, PA, in the first round at the Sovereign Center in Reading, PA.
Unbeaten welterweight prospect Ronald Cruz, of Bethlehem, PA, will box in the scheduled eight-round semifinal.
Five additional fights complete the card, which is being promoted by Peltz Boxing Promotions, Inc., and Don Chargin Productions.

Rendall Munroe takes part in charity tourney
World Boxing Association (WBA) International Super Bantamweight Champion Rendall Munroe is set to dump his gloves, albeit temporarily, and lace up his boots and take part in the upcoming TRAD TKO Boxing Gym Boxers and Celebrity Charity Football Tournament, in aid of the Indee Rose Trust, at Concord Rangers FC, in Canvey Island, Essex on Sunday 14th August 2011.
Rendall shot to fame in 2008 following his sensational, against the odds, victory over then European champion Spaniard Kiko Martinez. Rendall defended his European crown six times, as well as added the Commonwealth title to his collection in May 2009.
In October 2010 Rendall vacated his Commonwealth and European titles and traveled to Tokyo Japan to challenge WBC World Champion Toshiaki Nishioka for his crown. After twelve sensation rounds Nishioka retained his title for the sixth time.
Rendall felt that he had learned from the experience, of fighting on the World stage, and went straight on the Championship trail. On the 16th April this year Rendall added the WBA International belt to his collection with a sensational, unanimous points, victory over Belarusí Andrei Isaeu.
The next big date on Rendallís calendar is Sunday 14th August, when he will play in the TRAD TKO Boxing Gym Boxers and Celebrity Charity Football Tournament in Canvey Island, as he explained earlier by phone, ďAs soon as I heard on Ringside that Johnny was putting on the event I knew that I wanted to get involved and help raise some money for the Indee Rose Trust.
Iím just an average guy, besides boxing I enjoy playing football, so it really appealed to me.

On August 14th Rendall will be joining Johnny, and boxing stars Nathan Cleverly, Matthew Macklin, Kevin Mitchell, Ricky Burns, Barry McGuigan, Paul and Stephen Smith, Willie Limond, Tony Oakey, Ross Minter, Martin Power etc.; will be joined by celebrities such as Alex Reid (MMA), Johnny Borrell (Razorlight), Mark Wingett (Jim Carver - The Bill), Stephen Bell (Coronation Street), various of the Eastenders and Shameless cast etc. at the Concord Rangers FC ground on Canvey Island.

Daniel Herdman Says ďItís The Opportunity Of A LifetimeĒ After Prizefighter Call Up
Stevenageís Daniel Herdman will be one of the competitors taking part in the Matchroom Sport promoted Prizefighter tournament, when the top rated series returns for the new season on the 15th September with Prizefighter
- Light Middleweight II.
Daniel, who as an amateur won a Junior ABA title and Olympic Junior silver medal as well as earned regular England international honours, has had a torrid time since turning pro in 2007.
Losing his first pro bout, against Latvian Gatis Skuja, Daniel then strung a run of three excellent wins, over Ben Hudson, Duncan Cottier and Russell Pearce, in 2008, before a broken hand forced him to take a two year sabbatical from the sport.
Early in 2010 Daniel returned to training, with Johnny Eames at the TRAD TKO Boxing Gym in Canning Town, but it would take close to six months before he finally returned to the fray and secured his fourth win, with a scintillating performance over tough battler Ryan Clark at York Hall in December last year.
Earlier today Daniel spoke briefly about his selection to take part in the upcoming Prizefighter - Light Middleweight II, ďIím over the moon, itís the opportunity of a lifetime being invited to be in Prizefighter. I think itís a great opportunity for young people like myself to get on the rankings.
I think I should do really well as the Prizefighter format should suit me and my boxing style. Three rounds will suit me right down to the ground as I like to get inside and really fight, donít really like to stand off so itíll be really exciting for the fans to watch.

Firtha Returns August 13th
6'6, 250 pound heavyweight Nick "The Stoneman" Firtha (19-8-1)returns to the ring Saturday August 13th at Cene Park in Struthers, Ohio. He will face veteran Ross Thompson(27-15-3) in a featured heavyweight bout. A winner of 3 of his last 4, Firtha's only defeat over the stretch was a competitive 10 round decision loss to upcoming WBA heavyweight title challenger, Alexander Povetkin (21-0).
Other featured fights will include a junior welterweight scrap between Miguel Gonzalez (18-2) and Tyrone Harris (23-7); plus local lightweight prospect Jake Guiriceo (11-0-1) facing an opponent to be determined. Promoted by James Infante, the undercard will also feature several heavies. Jason Massie (6-0) meets Mujaheed Moore (4-5) in a 6 rounder, while Chris Koval (24-7) battles James Porter (5-15-2) in a four.
