Vitali vs. Adamek bout still awaiting an official go ahead form local authorities

By Vitali Shaposhinikov: The heavyweight title bout between Vitali Klitschko (42-2-0) and Tomasz Adamek (44-1-0) in Wroclaw, Poland, is almost ready to go. Why almost?

According to a Ukrainian news report by news.zn.ua (http://news.zn.ua/articles/87554), while everything is ready to go, they are still awaiting a green light from the Polish local police. It seems as though a massive brawl is something of worry to the local authorities, and they are working out the details of what would have to be done in case this does happen.

The Polish, Russian, and Ukrainian people, while all of common Slavic decent, are tremendously competitive with each other when it comes to sports, and are very loyal to their local sportsmen. I would not find it unusual if the fans went at it before, during or after the fight, due to either the result of the bout, or some fan saying something explosive. Hopefully the evident respect that both fighters have for each other will play a role in preventing any conflict between the crowds.
