Mr. Malitz, who for 40 years was one of the top executives of Top Rank, recently passed away in his sleep. "I was very honored and pleased to have his friendship since his very beginning in international boxing..

"The WBC declares today a day of world mourning for the passing away of such a great boxing person, whose memory will remain for many years to come in the hearts of all his friends.
