Manolis Plaitis versus Arvydas Trizno, October 20, in Montreal
By GM Ross: Former Canadian light welterweight champion Manolis Plaitis (16-1-1) of Montreal, Quebec, will return to the ring in his hometown on October 20, where he'll meet Arvydas Trizno (9-13-2) of Lithuania in a six round, light middleweight contest. Fans will likely recall Trizno from his recent losses to Edmonton's Rory Coveney (6-0-0) and former WBC Light Welterweight champion Junior Witter (39-5-2).

Frankly, Plaitis has nothing to fear from Trizno. The latter is a sub five hundred fighter, with no power to speak of; in twenty four fights he's recorded one knockout. That being said, Trizno has only been stopped twice in thirteen losses and will likely give Plaitis a full six rounds of work.
Plaitis hasn't been particularly active over the last two years, fighting on just three occasions. Trizno has been considerably busier, fighting eleven times in less than ten months. If Plaitis comes into the fight with a touch of ring rust, the Lithuanian may have an opening or two for an upset. Trizno's general lack of power, however, makes this a long shot.
