Pacquiao says Mayweather negotiations are ongoing
By Vitali Shaposhnikov: According to ABS/CBN News report (http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/11/24/11/pacquiao-confirms-negotiations-mayweather-team), Manny Pacquiao confirmed that negotiations were in progress with team Mayweather.
"Negotiations are ongoing for my fight with Mayweather, but nothing is final," said Pacquiao himself.
"Mayweather may be thinking, 'I can fight Pacquiao now because he had trouble against Marquez, and I was able to beat up Marquez),'” commented Pacquiao.
With Ariza’s recent public outburst of dislike for the way Arum handles Pacquiao, maybe now a deal can be reached between the two camps, and Arum will ‘allow’ Pacquiao to finally face Mayweather Jr.
Having said all that, I prefer to keep my hopes at bay, as we have all heard this song being sang before. Negotiations occurred and fell through. If they are indeed discussing the fight in a serious fashion with intention of making it happen in May, then a signed contract will be the only thing that raises the public’s optimism.
