Wladimir Klitshcko Forced To Pull Out Of Heavyweight Title Defence Against Jean-Marc Mormeck on Saturday 10th December

Wladimir KlitschkoBy Martin Salt: Wladimir Klitshcko has been forced to pull out of his WBA/WBO/IBF and Ring Magazine Heavyweight title defences this weekend against Jean-Marc Mormeck.

Wladimir Klitshcko was admitted to hospital last week with stomach problems and had kidney stones removed. At the time it was hoped that the Ukrainian would still be able to fight Mormeck this coming weekend but his management team has persuaded him to pull out.

Wladimir’s manager Bernd Bonte has indicated that his fighter is in too much pain to fight but is sad to pull out.

It is a unfortunate end to the year which has been another solid and dominating one for both of the Klitshcko brothers who now between them are the undisputed kings of the heavyweight division.

Expect Wladimir Klitshcko to be back quickly in the new year, probably against Mormeck in a rearranged bout. Will Vitali Klitshcko finally get it on with former WBA Heavyweight champion David Haye.

But more importantly, will there be anyone to challenge the dominance of the Klitschko’s?
