The two-hour New England Ringside Boxing Radio Show airs every Thursday night between 6-8 pm (ET) on Boston’s boxing station, The Zone (1510 AM), and also may be heard live on the Internet by going to www.newenglandringside.com.
Dawson (16-0, 11 KOs, 1 NC) and Gibbs (17-1, 14 KOs) are both headlining shows April 1 in Connecticut. Dawson, rated No. 14 by the WBC, defends his WBC Youth middleweight title in the “Homecoming,” against Efrain Garcia in the 10-round main event at the New Haven Athletic Center. “Bad” Chad is coming off of a near perfect fight in which he defeated former world champion Carl Daniels by seventh-round TKO. In addition to talking about his first fight in his New Haven hometown, the 22-year-old Dawson also will discuss his goals and hit list schedule.
Gibbs, fighting out of Philadelphia, faces Andreas Pachedo (13-2, 9 KOs), in the 10-round main event at Mohegan Sun. Willie will field questions about his match against Pachedo, as well as how he feels coming off of his only loss, a fourth-round TKO at the hands of Daniel Edouard in their 2004 ESPN2 Fight of the Year candidate. Gibbs also will talk about what it’s like to spar with his cousin by marriage, undisputed world middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins.
New England Ringside also hosts a popular web site, publishes a monthly magazine, and owns Fightography (sells classic boxing pictures). For more information about New England Ringside call 617.835.9137 or go on line to www.newenglandringside.com.
