Governor Pacquiao is Next
By Vitali Shaposhnikov: Seems like being a congressman is simply not enough for Manny Pacquiao, who announced in an interview with Korina Sanchez the he is planning to run for governor of Sarangani province in 2013. (http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sports/03/19/12/pacquiao-run-governor-2013)

“Pacquiao was in session for only 27 days last year. Of the 32 days that he missed, 21 were without official notice.”
I am confident that Pacman knows that beings absent so much, without any notice, is something that the officials will not tolerate for an extended period of time. This could potentially cost him his popularity in politics, and even become a roadblock to his political future.
Pacquiao still wants to stay involved in local politics, thus is serious about his plans for next year. I assume that this plan of his will likely coincide with an intended retirement.
Freddie Roach has on numerous occasions, stated that politics will end Pacquiao’s boxing career. They had fights on this issue before, and Roach has never approved of Pacman’s desire to help his people via his possible political influence. Looks like Freddie has been right all along. I will be very surprised if Manny is still boxing by the ends of 2013.
