No Doubt: Lamont Peterson vs. Amir Khan II Washington, DC Presser

By Chip Mitchell: Excitement was in the house as Lamont Peterson and Amir Khan hit the second leg of a three-city tour to promote their eagerly anticipated rematch.

The promotion titled “No Doubt:  Lamont Peterson vs. Amir Khan II“  took place at the W Hotel and both fighters seemed to eager to settle the controversy of their first fight and leave ‘no doubt’ in the minds of the fans.  The DC Fight Diva, Crystal Hamlin was also in attendance and here’s how things played out:
Amir Khan’s commentary on the rematch:

“I want to thank the Peterson team for taking the rematch immediately.  They could have turned it down, but they didn’t.”
Lamont Peterson’s take on the second fight:

“To be honest, there were other fights out there offered for the same amount of money.  But the fans wanted the rematch and I wanted it.”

Peterson vs. Khan II, a 12-round Unified Super Lightweight World Title Fight for Peterson’s WBA World Super Championship and IBF World Championship taking place Saturday, May 19 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev., is presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with Khan Promotions and Headbangers Promotions and sponsored by Corona and AT&T. The fight will be telecast live on HBO World Championship Boxing at 10:45 p.m. ET/7:45 p.m. PT in the United States and live on Sky in the United Kingdom. Tickets priced at $300, $200, $150, $100 and $50, not including applicable service charges, will be available for purchase at the Mandalay Bay box office and all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations.
