Marquez must beat Fedchenko on 4/14 to push forward to Pacquiao rematch
By Marcus Richardson: 38-year-old Juan Manuel Marquez might have looked a little too good in his last fight against Manny Pacquiao, because heís not being given an immediate rematch despite fighting Pacquiao better than anyone has since he fought Pacquiao for the second time in 2008. Marquez will now have to work his way back into another fight against Pacquiao by beating up on Sergiy Fedchenko (30-1, 13 KOís) on April 14th in their fight on HBO at the New Mexico City Arena, Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico.

Nevermind the record by Fedchenko, this is going to be an easy fight for Marquez and a pointless one at that. Too bad Pacquiao and his promoter wonít just give Marquez an immediate rematch instead of him having to wait for it. But then again Marquez almost derailed the Pacquiao gravy train, so itís a miracle if heíll even get a rematch against him. I think he might just because Arum has exhausted all the worthwhile fighters, besides Floyd Mayweather Jr., to put in with Pacquiao.
You can count on Marquez bringing in a bundle in PPV cash, and fight Pacquiao close enough to where it appears that Marquez wins but then he never does. Heís clearly not the money maker that Pacquiao is, and if Marquez were to fight Pacquiao 100 times and appear to beat him by a couple of rounds each time, heíd lose all 100 fights. Heís not the money maker that Pacquiao. Thatís the way I see it.
Marquez will probably have to fight one of Arumís stable guys former WBA lightweight champ Brandon Rios in order to get that Pacquiao fight. The Rios-Marquez fight will take place in mid-July in Texas, as long as both Marquez and Rios win their fights on April 14th.
