Their mouth-watering 12 rounder is the chief support when Miguel Cotto risks his World Boxing Association (WBA) super world light-middleweight crown against the world’s top fighter, Floyd Mayweather.
Mosley, 40, has promised his fans watching live and exclusively on BoxNation that he is ready to cause a big upset against the fast emerging Mexican superstar.
The three time world champion and future Hall of Famer said: “I know I must sound like a broken record, but I still love the sport..
“I know how important this fight is and I am ready to rock ‘n’ roll. This isn’t about money – it is about winning another world title.”
Alvarez, 21, will be making the fourth defence of the crown he won against Matthew Hatton 14 months ago.
Mosley added: “All credit to Alvarez for accepting my challenge because he could have picked someone else and had an easier time.
“He is taking me on to prove that he’s an elite fighter.”
Mosley is being trained by Nazeem Richardson who is considered one of the best trainers in the world right now.
Richardson says: “In the gym recently, Shane was flying and someone who watched him said, ‘He has turned back the clock’, but that is not right.
“Shane has a tremendous boxing IQ and all he has done is re-invent himself.”
