Lively Weigh-In For Mayweather-Cotto

boxingby James Slater in las Vegas - It was a boisterous atmosphere inside a packed, open to the public, official Ring Kings, MGM Grand, weigh-in today in Las Vegas. Betting favourite and unbeaten star Fl;oyd Mayweather Junior came in at 151-pounds, and was greeted by a cascade of boos. While WBA 154 pound champ Miguel Cotto came in at exactly 154. Huge cheers welcomed the Puerto Rican legend.

Both men looked great, in top shape, and a selection of top names of the sport were also in attendance in Fight Town. A hugely popular Paulie Malignaggi was a fan fave, as was his possible next foe, Devon Alexander. Zab Judah was also posing for photos and signing autographs. This writer also ran into former heavyweight champs Tony Tucker and Leon Spinks, as well as new U.S heavyweight hope Seth Mitchell..

Spinks, sadly, looked in pretty bad shape, walking unsteadily and with the help of an assitant. Tucker, a mountain of a man, looked as formidable as ever. Mayhem Mitchell, proved a hit with the fans, especially the younger fans, and the likeable contender seemed almost overwhelmed by all the attention he was getting.

All the big names are in town for tomorrow's big fight, and the place is literally buzzing with atmosphere.

This writer can't wait - and lots of fans are giving cotto a real chance at scoring the upset.
